HOW TO MAKE A RENTAL RESERVATION: Reservations must be made in our office either in person, by email or by mail, or by fax. No reservations will be accepted by telephone.
DEPOSIT: A $100.00 deposit is required at the time the reservation is made. When the trailer is picked up, we require an additional $200.00 cash deposit and a signed credit card imprint (excluding American Express). This is to cover damages and late fees. When the trailer is returned on time, clean, and not damaged the entire deposit will be refunded and the credit card imprint voided. A chart listing damage and clean-up fees is located in the shop/rental office. Certain events require a $500.00 deposit due to past history of excessive damage.
CANCELLATIONS: Cancellation notices must be received 7 DAYS PRIOR to the reservation date in order to be refundable. IF NOT, THE $100.00 DEPOSIT IS FORFEITED!
INSURANCE: The renter must show proof of liability insurance and a valid driver’s license since he is responsible while pulling the trailer. ALL DRIVERS MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OLD. This is a new requirement from our insurance company. If the damage is incurred while hitched up to the trailer, you must turn the damages into your liability insurance company. The customer is also responsible for damages to the unit while not in transit.
PROPANE GAS: A tank for propane gas will be furnished at no charge. The renter will not be responsible for bringing the trailer back with a full propane tank. Renter assumes all responsibility for the use of the propane. There is a place to purchase propane less than ½ mile from us.
WIRING: Rental trailers are equipped with electric brakes and a 7-way harness. All tow vehicles must be equipped with electric brake control units. If needed, we can install a 7-way plug and the brake control unit for your vehicle for a fee. If we are going to wire your vehicle, please allow ample time for this process. It can be done at the time of pick-up but only if you have scheduled this work in advance. To schedule this work and get an estimate, contact our service department.
HITCH: Trailers must be pulled with a 2” frame mounted receiver hitch. The top of the hitch ball should be between 16” & 22” from the ground. We will furnish a hitch head with equalizer bars.
HOURS OF SERVICE: Trailers should be picked up between 9:00 am and 11:00 or 1:00 and 4:00 pm Monday thru Saturday. RENTALS MAY NOT BE PICKED UP ON SUNDAY FOR ANY REASON. Rentals may be returned between 9:00 am and 11:00 or 1:00 am and 4:00 pm Monday thru Saturday. Rentals may be returned on Sunday by 4:00 pm. We are closed Sunday but will check at 4:00 pm to see that they were returned. The unit will not be checked in or deposits refunded until Monday. Please make an appointment for a pick-up time, either a morning pick-up or afternoon pick-up when you make a reservation.
DEMONSTRATION & CHECK OUT PROCEDURE: Please be aware that it may take up to an hour to pick -up the trailer. Please allow time for us to go through the trailer and demonstrate the operation of it. You will be required to sign an inspection sheet citing the condition of the trailer. If you see something damaged, bring it to our attention and we will repair it or make a note of it so you will not be held responsible. “IT WAS LIKE THAT WHEN I GOT IT” will not be an acceptable excuse to keep from paying for damages if not noted on the inspection sheet.
PAYMENT: Deposit and rent are payable in full in advance or at the time of pick-up. Rent will be charged for each night the unit is the possession of the renter. The rental day ends at 4:00 pm. Rental deposits that are made within 7 days of pick-up time must be paid by cash or credit card. NO REFUNDS WILL BE MADE FOR TRAILERS BROUGHT BACK EARLY because we have to make other rental reservations based on the dates that the renter said he would have the unit. Because we have received so many NSF checks lately, deposits are not refunded for 10 business days after a trailer is returned if any part of the rent or deposit was paid by check.
EQUIPMENT: The trailers are 28’ long and weigh just under 4500 pounds empty. All travel trailers are equipped with an air conditioner, 2-way refrigerator, furnace, and 3-burner range with oven and microwave. They also have a full bathroom with shower. The wastewater holding tanks must be emptied and cleaned: Self Service is $10.00 and Full Service is $25.00. A dump station is available at Bennett’s Camping Center.
MINIMUM RENTAL: There is a 4-night minimum on Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day weekends. The rest of the year there is a 3-night minimum.
NIGHTLY RATES: 28 ft TRAILER $120.00 PER NIGHT, $700.00 PER WEEK AND $100.00 PER NIGHT THEREAFTER.
